In 1636, a ship built in Belfast Lough sailed for the New World. She was named the 'Eagle Wing'. The vessel never reached America but, for Presbyterians, the voyage became a symbol of indomitable courage and determination against overwhelming odds. Despite the Eagle Wing's enduring place in Ulster history, until now little has been written on her construction and the motivations and experiences of those who commissioned and sailed in her, This little book enables us to stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave ministers, Blair and Livingstone, and their families and friends, as they hazard all they have in the hope of winning the freedom to worship in accordance with their conscience.
